The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Offices of Drug & Alcohol and Public Health are sponsoring a free Naloxone distribution and education event on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Ambler.
In recent years, there has been a significant increase in deaths resulting from heroin and prescription opioids. This epidemic has spread across Pennsylvania, as currently one in four families struggle with a substance abuse problem.
The event will take place Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm, at St. Anthony’s of Padua Parish: 259 Forest Avenue, Ambler, PA. The event is free. Registration in advance is required – www.montcopa.org/naloxoneregistration.
The event is an opportunity for members of the public to learn about Naloxone, when and how to use it, and other resources available to those in need of treatment for substance use disorder. A NARCAN® Nasal Spray kit will be given out at the conclusion of the training (one kit per person), to the first 50 people who register and attend the distribution and educational event.
