VFTCB to celebrate how “Travel Matters” with rally & golf event

The country is celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week this week, and the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) will continue that celebration with a Travel Rally and 4th Annual Montco Golf Classic on Monday at the recently renovated Blue Bell Country Club (BBCC).

Due to today’s weather, the Golf Classic has been postponed until June 10, but the Travel Rally is on as planned, beginning at 11 a.m.

The theme of the week is “Travel Matters.”

In Montgomery County, Travel Matters because of its positive economic impact of $1.6 billion, and 20,000 jobs that tourism contributes.

But, travel also matters to health, hometown pride, and to keeping people connected. The VFTCB team works hard to inspire the world to fall in love with Montco.

That’s why the organization hosts the annual Travel Rally and Golf Event, to thank the group’s more than 600 members for all that they do to bring visitors to Montgomery County.

With an audience of special guests, elected officials, members and partners – and other surprises – the VFTCB will introduce its brand-new summer TV campaign and seasonal hotel package, as well as promote upcoming events for what is proving to be one of the biggest summers Montco has seen with more large-scale entertainment than ever before.

Renovations at the course – which has hosted major tournaments and celebrities like Phil Mickelson – have included improvements to the irrigation system, as well as Arnie’s Sports Bar & Restaurant, a fire-pit lounge, outdoor cocktail area, and renovated men’s locker room. There will be even more to come in 2019.
