It may seem like the ultimate odd couple, but the combination of a firehouse and storage facility most likely will be a match made in heaven.

The seven-story building will be home to Cubesmart and a fire station that houses emergency medical services. The building, located at 400 Guthrie Road,  will have 98,650 square feet of storage space over six floors and 10,689 square feet on the ground floor that will be dedicated to the fire station., writes Natalie Kostelni in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

“Rather than design and build these facilities as traditional, single-use, free-standing stations, the township encouraged us to think about integrating them into a building that included other uses,” said Dennis Maloomian, of Realen Properties, which is the master developer of the community.

The expectation is that construction of the project will get underway later this year. The fire station will serve the Village at Valley Forge as well as other parts of the township.
