New ideas and the drive to get there were the focal points of a high-profile panel discussion at Manor College in Jenkintown.

Innovation and Ambition in Montgomery County was a networking event with industry leaders that discussed how how tourism and higher education are adjusting to the changing marketing landscape, new strategies and ideas for marketing your business and how to leverage the trend toward local marketing.

Manor College President Jonathan Peri introduce the panel.

“As a Catholic college, Manor is keenly aware of the importance of community — with our neighbors, businesses, and partners. We have highly valued and appreciated partnerships with Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board and Carvertise; bringing Edward Harris (VFTCB) and Greg Star (Carvertise) to campus, along with our Vice President of Marketing and Communication Heather Dotchel, to speak about the innovative ways that they seek to market their companies seemed like a natural fit,” said Peri after the event. “This is why we opened the event to the public and made sure that the opportunity to learn and network was free. It is also why the Philadelphia Business Journal wanted to sponsor the event. Marketing is a dynamic and fascinating topic; the panel was delighted to engage with our community; and we were thankful for the partnerships that were highlighted and cultivated.”

The entire panel was very active throughout the afternoon, which was  moderated by Paul Koulogeorge of The Goddard School, and Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board Chief Marketing Officer Ed Harris had these observations after the discussion.

“At the panel discussion it became clear to me that Montco is in the middle of a renaissance.  Hearing from leaders in the education, entrepreneurship, and non-profit arenas provided a reminder of the energy and momentum in our county right now.  There’s a revival and a renewed interest in people wanting to not only visit here but also live and work here,” said Harris.  “With so much activity and development happening throughout Montco, the panel discussion was a great chance to pause and hear about not only what’s happening in our backyard right now, but more importantly hear about the future growth and possibilities that exist in the years ahead.”
