“We are so happy to support such a worthwhile program,” said Thomas Spann, Retail Office Manager for the WSFS King of Prussia branch. “We want to help the veterans in our community in any way we can.”

The Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Mobile Veterans’ Discount Identification Card event will be held at from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the King of Prussia WSFS branch: 110 Town Square Place, King of Prussia, PA 19406.

The Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds office packs up their mobile equipment anywhere from twenty to thirty times per year to take their program to different parts of Montgomery County. Sorg said this ensures that every veteran has access to the service.

“The discount, though it is a benefit, is not the primary purpose of this program,” Sorg said. “A DD-214 is one of the most important documents veterans hold. It is a necessary component to receiving benefits.”

Sorg went on to explain that many things can happen to discharge paperwork over the years. It is imperative that veterans have a copy stored in a safe, easily accessible place.

“When a veteran records their DD-214 at the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds office, they can rest assured that their document is safe, secure and accessible to them if they should need it,” Sorg said. “With proper identification, a veteran can receive a certified copy of their DD-214 the same day during our regular office hours. That is why we are so dedicated to taking this program on the road. We want to reach as many veterans as possible.”

If you know a veteran who would like more information about the Veterans’ Discount Identification Card program, including upcoming outreach events, please have them contact the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds office at 610-278-3289 for more details.

Jeanne Sorg assumed the office of Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds in 2016.
