MCCC to host master class featuring internationally renowned percussionist Pablo Batista

Montgomery County Community College will be hosting a Master Class on Latin percussion featuring percussionist Pablo Batista, who has performed, recorded and toured internationally for 30 years with some of the most well-known music stars in rhythm and blues, jazz, Latin, pop and gospel, including Alicia Keys, Patti Labelle, Teddy Pendergrass, Grover Washington, Jr. and many others.

Known for his diverse talents as a percussionist, Batista integrates his playing into almost any style at the highest level of musicianship, holds the rare distinction of having performed on Grammy-winning releases and has been a guest with the Philadelphia Orchestra Percussion Ensemble.

The event takes place at MCCC’s  Advanced Technology Center – Mix Room (Room 145, first floor), 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422, on Feb. 8 at noon.

During the year, MCCC through its Sound Recording & Music Technology Program and its Lively Arts Series hosts Master Classes with musicians and performers in the College’s state-of-the-art Mix Room, a sound recording studio with professional recording technology. The Mix Room serves as a live-learning lab, providing students with hands-on, experiential learning experiences in which they learn from and work with professionals in the music industry.
