Done deal: Boyd Gaming Corp. the official owner of Valley Forge Casino and Resort in King of Prussia

A mere $280.5 million later got Boyd Gaming Corp. to the gambling table in Pennsylvania, specifically Montgomery County.

The Las Vegas-based casino owner and operator announced Monday its acquisition of Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia has been completed.

“Valley Forge represents a key expansion of our nationwide portfolio, giving us the opportunity to serve the vibrant Northeast region,” said Keith Smith, president and CEO of Boyd Gaming, in a statement., writes Alison Burdo and Kenneth Hilario in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The completed purchase of the casino in King of Prussia ups Boyd’s total number of casinos to 25 across 8 states.

Founded in 1975, Boyd Gaming now counts 25 casino properties across eight states, Nevada, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Pennsylvania, in its portfolio. Its newest property, located in Montgomery County, underwent millions in renovations in recent years. It improved upon existing amenities and made changes to its restaurant offerings and diversified its night life scene ahead of the sale announcement last year.
