Tech Talk: Researchers develop tech that ‘sees’ through walls
New technology developed by a team of MIT researchers detects motion on the other side of a wall, thus putting us one step closer to sharing superpowers with superheroes.
RF-Pose, developed by professor Dina Katabi and her team from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), uses artificial intelligence to teach wireless devices to sense people’s postures and movement, even through walls, writes Anne Stych at bizjournals.com.

Using a neural network, the system analyzes radio signals that bounce off people’s bodies to create a dynamic stick figure that walks, stops, sits, and moves its limbs, mimicking a person’s movements.
The developers say the technology could be used in law enforcement, search and rescue efforts, and in health care for monitoring patients.
