7th annual Bike To Work Day set for May 18

The nonprofit Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association (GVF) will host its Seventh Annual Bike to Work Day Friday, May 18.

In Montgomery County, the ride kicks off at 7:15 a.m. at Norristown Transportation Center, bound for Valley Forge National Historical Park via the Schuylkill River Trail north, writes  Gary Puleo at pottsmerc.com.

In Chester County, cyclists will meet up at 7:15 a.m. at Borough Hall, 347 PA-113, Phoenixville and ride five to seven miles on the Schuylkill River Trail south to the park.

Among those joining the ride will be Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) Executive Director Barry Seymour; SEPTA General Manager Jeff Knueppel; State Rep Mary Jo Daley (D — 148th Dist.) and Montgomery County Commissioners Val Arkoosh, Joe Gale and Ken Lawrence; Valley Forge National Historical Park Superintendent Steve Sims and GVF Deputy Executive Director Maureen Farrell.
