Plans are moving forward on the construction of a 26,000-square-foot, multimillion-dollar student union at Bryn Athyn in Montgomery County.

Officials at the private, Christian liberal arts college hope the new amenity will help it attract more students, writes Clayton C. Walsh at theintell.com.

The student union project, funded entirely by a private donor who asked that the amount not be disclosed, will help add a bump to student life at a college that has watched its numbers surge in recent years. There are 330 students at the college for the 2017-18 school year — up from 302 the prior year. The college received more than 1,200 incoming applications this year — up 30 to 40 percent over previous years.
