Residents offer views of Amazon’s HQ2 list and the Philadelphia region

So, Philadelphia made the top 20 hot list as a location for Seattle-based Amazon’s new headquarters, and the region is reflecting a mix of reactions.

Just as the e-commerce giant’s call for bids for its so-called HQ2 set off a frenzy among local municipalities around the country last year, the shortlist has also garnered a range of reactions from around Greater Philadelphia, as well as the rest of the country, as residents of each city discovered Amazon’s (Nasdaq: AMZN) selection, writes  Alison Burdo  in the Philadelphia Business Journal

Those working within city government, unsurprisingly, appeared thrilled – with some referencing the Kenney Administration’s marketing campaign to woo Amazon, dubbed #PhillyDelivers.

But not everyone is throwing open their arms in welcoming gesture. Some have expressed concerns that housing could be impacted negatively with the move.
