While New York Yankee Aaron Judge was likely celebrating his American League Rookie of the Year award, Chandler Bats got to work.

Having relocated to its new Montgomery County facility on Nov. 1, less than two weeks before Judge learned of his latest honor, Chandler Bats had to settle into its new space quickly to meet the demands of its distribution partners, eager to sell the official bat of the Major League Baseball All-Star and Home Run Derby winner, writes Alison Burdo in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

“We don’t hit the home runs, but we play an integral part in the player’s confidence,” said Dave Chandler, who founded the company in 2010. He spent at least a year considering sites from the Navy Yard in South Philadelphia to industrial spaces in Oaks, Montgomery County.

Popular among many noteworthy Major League ballplayers, like the Washington Nationals’ Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg and former Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino, Chandler Bats’ new home at 2947 Felton Road in East Norriton, Montgomery County, sets the company up for future growth, he said.

The new headquarters also doubles the size of the retail component to 500 square feet and expands to two batting cages totaling 4,600 square feet, up from a single cage at 2,600 square feet at East Main Street.

“While it is attached, it is entirely its own space that is also appropriate for after hours,” Chandler said. “I don’t have to worry about my shop being exposed if we open up that end on Saturday or Sunday for hitting lessons.”
