Vacant Fort Washington Gas Station Candidate for Medical Marijuana Dispensary Site

The closed Exxon station at 475 Pennsylvania Ave in Fort Washington is being considered as a Cure Pennsylvania medical marijuana dispensary site.

The closed Exxon station at 475 Pennsylvania Ave in Fort Washington has been targeted by Cure Pennsylvania as a potential medical marijuana dispensary site, writes Linda Finarelli for Montgomery Media.

However, the flooding that has affected the site in the past, may put this plan on hold.

On July 29, the state health department issued six licenses to dispense medical marijuana products at 14 locations in Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. In addition to the proposed Fort Washington location, Cure PA is planning to open two additional dispensaries, one of which will be in Phoenixville.

Upper Dublin Township was first contacted by Cure Colorado, which is the same company as Cure Pennsylvania, via conference call on August 2, said Township Manager Paul Leonard.  However, he noted that no applications or written correspondence had been received before that.

During the call, the company representatives said they have a lease on the property, but have not yet visited it. They have also inquired about the permitting process.

“Our response was not to render any opinions until we receive an application,” said Leonard.
