Mike Dee, the former San Diego Padres and Miami Dolphins CEO and now Entercom Communications’ president of sports is happy to be in Philadelphia area.

Two decades after he graduated from Franklin & Marshall College, Mike Dee, Entercom Communications’ new president of sports, is happy to be back in Philadelphia area, writes Jeff Blumenthal for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The former San Diego Padres and Miami Dolphins CEO joined the Bala Cynwyd company after it announced it was acquiring CBS Radio. This will make the combined company the second largest radio company nationwide with 25 sports talk stations, and the CBS Sports Radio Network operation which has 300 station affiliates across the country.

Dee will work out of Entercom’s Bala Cynwyd headquarters. From there he will focus on national sales and marketing programs, revenue development, new platform opportunities, and developing new partnerships. He will also work on expanded sports distribution, direct-to-consumer offerings, and numerous other business initiatives at the national level.

“I think sports is a microcosm of Entercom as a whole,” said Dee. “One of the challenges the company faced was not having a presence in Philadelphia and New York. The CBS deal solved that and will make us unmatched on the sports side.”
