Ardmore residents will soon be able to dine at a classic French brasserie in the space that once housed Primavera Pizza Kitchen, writes Michael Klein for Philly.com.

The new restaurant named ‘The Bercy’ after a Paris neighborhood is being opened by Justin Weathers and Joe Monnich. The pair already run several successful eateries in the region, including Stove & Tap in Lansdale and Al Pastor and Bella Vista in Exton.

Monnich, who was executive chef at Parc on Rittenhouse Square, plans to take a rustic approach to the menu. Some of the items he is planning include steak frites, duck a l’orange, and tarte flambée.

The 240-seat eatery will have a 40 seats bar set in a horseshoe pattern to create a community gathering place and is planned to open in November.

“The bar is going to be a focal point of the energy,” he said.

Weathers also acknowledged that with the high prices of a liquor license, the Lower Marion dining scene has a very high entry barrier. However, he is hoping that the new restaurant will become a destination spot like Parc.
