As part of its switch to a warehouse distribution model, Kellogg is closing its Horsham distribution center resulting in the loss of 292 jobs, writes Jeff Blumenthal for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The layoffs at the 22,177-square-foot facility will take place between August 4 and August 17. However, Kellogg spokesman, Kris Charles, said that while the model switch is the right thing to do for the company’s long-term objectives, the decision was still difficult to make due to its impact on employees.

“We’ve been actively engaged in conversations with some of our biggest retail partners who have expressed strong interest in hiring these employees,” he said.
