VFTCB’s Dan Weckerly Wins Navigational Challenge with Waze

By

In a CBS Philly showdown between Google maps, built-in GPS, and Waze, VFTCB’s Dan Weckerly came out as the clear winner by using the third option.

Dan Weckerly, Communications Manager for the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board, was the clear winner after using Waze in a friendly three-way showdown to find the most effective GPS navigation system, writes Meisha Johnson for CBS Philly.

His two competitors used either Google Maps or built-in GPS. These both gave a different route and a shorter estimated arrival time. However, Waze incorporates real-time tips from drivers already on its suggested route and adjusts accordingly.

The result? Weckerly not only made it first, but his time exactly matched the apps prediction.

“Waze has been not only scenic and efficient but dead-on accurate,” he said.
