Plymouth Meeting’s Griswold Home Care has joined forces with a telemedicine company to provide clients with access to a live doctor over the internet.

As telemedicine becomes more prevalent in the world of home care, Plymouth Meeting’s Griswold Home Care has joined this growing trend by partnering with Teladoc to provide its clients with access to a live doctor on their computers or mobile devices, writes John George for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Montgomery County home care provider has over 130 franchise locations which are serving approximately 5,000 clients in 33 states.

The company, which was founded three and a half decades ago, provides non-medical home care services. These include helping clients with basic needs such as dressing, bathing, meal preparation, and providing companionship.

The new Griswold Connect program allows clients to speak to a physician or receive a diagnosis over the telephone or online 24/7.

“We see this partnership as the perfect mix of providing access to higher acuity services without having to actually provide the service,” explained CEO Matt Murphy.

“This relationship provides peace of mind to care recipients, convenience to the care recipient’s families, and reduced risk of readmission to referral sources.”
