Clutch logoAmbler’s e-marketing company Clutch followed up its successful $5.25 million funding round with the acquisition of Chicago’s Persio for its mobile marketing capabilities, writes Michelle Caffrey for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The latest acquisition gives Clutch, which focuses on customer management for B2C brands, a chance to incorporate Persio’s messaging platform into its own. This will give clients the ability to send text and video messages to customers such as birthday wishes and reminders about soon-to-expire reward points.

“With this acquisition, the Clutch platform is the first to support the marketer with a comprehensive view of customers across all buying and marketing channels,” said Clutch CEO, Ned Moore. “The addition of Persio’s intelligent mobile platform will allow us to deliver these experiences instantly and with greater context.”

The acquisition will bring the number of Clutch employees to 75 in its Ambler and Persio’s Chicago offices. The joint company will continue to operate under Clutch’s name.

“Clutch built its business on unifying data to give marketers an actionable, complete view of their customers, and blending our capabilities with theirs is just natural,” said Doulas.

“Together we can integrate customer data into virtually every marketing activity.”
