A new development may be coming to the 133-acre former Dow Chemical site in Lower Gwynedd now that developer MRA Group has put the property under agreement, writes Natalie Kostelni for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The developer is currently in the process of coming up with possible plans for redeveloping the property off Norristown Road. The site is considered ideal due to its location within a sought after community and direct access to nearby highways. The property is officially owned by Dow, but has sat fallow for the last four years after the chemical giant moved its operations to Collegeville.

Currently, the site has 11 buildings which consist of close to 600,000-square-feet. MRA has already started to meet with both township officials and neighbors to present and discuss potential plans.

Michael Twersky, president of the Spring House Farm Homeowners Association said that the community group has already seen several different proposals for the property including adding some residential units and even a ball field.

“It’s still early in the process,” said Twersky. “With any group, there are different views.”
