The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team visited Lansdale last Saturday for an all-day round-robin-style softball tournament with the town’s first responders and veterans, writes Michael Goldberg for The Reporter.

The visit was organized by Tracey Leinen, founder and executive director of the Griffin Gives Foundation, a nonprofit philanthropic group that helps to support veterans and individuals with debilitating diseases.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team visited the Butch Clemens Field in Towamencin at 11:30 AM under the escort of police and motorcyclists from the American Legion Riders.

“I get really emotional just thinking about it,” Leinen, a North Penn High School graduate who was the Director of Travel Operations for the Philadelphia Eagles for more than 15 years, said of the Wounded Warriors.

“They’re competitive and so, so good and just wonderful people and really inspiring. It’s really a must-see event.”
