Philadelphia Union Visit Thrills Flourtown Day Camp Participants

For the third year in a row, the Philadelphia Union’s “The U on Tour” program stopped by Flourtown Day Camp at the invitation of the Director Danny Collins to the delight of both children and parents, writes Andrew Robinson for The Reporter.

During Wednesday’s visit, the team brought a large inflatable soccer net with targets placed around a printed screen with a goalie while an inflatable field gave kids the opportunity to play 5-on-5 or 6-on-6 games.

“There’s a lot of activity, they keep the kids busy“ said Collins. “They seem to love playing in the inflatable field. It’s something out of the norm for us.”

Chester based Philadelphia Union is in its sixth MLS season and through these efforts is branching out to the younger demographic.

“The purpose is for us to show them what the Philadelphia Union is all about,” said Lubos Kubik, a Marketing Coordinator with the Union. “We want them to come to our games so we want them to know us and who we really are and also just have fun.”
