Skanska USA, with local offices in Blue Bell, has been hired by Inspira Health Network to build the new Gloucester County (N.J.) hospital, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The $350 million project will be a five-story hospital building with 204 beds in Harrison. It is the second major hospital contract in the region recently awarded to Skanska USA. The company was also chosen to construct the Christiana Care Health System’s women and children’s health center in Newark, Del., last month.

The new Inspira hospital is Skanska USA’s biggest integrated delivery project to date in North America. According to Ed Szwarc, Skanska USA Executive Vice President and General Manager, its integrated project delivery uses a bundled approach whereby the architect, engineer, and contractor all sign one contract.

“We all share the risk and reward,” said Szwarc. “Everybody’s profit comes from a single pool based on the success of the project. Everybody has to be successful for any individual organization to be successful.”

Construction of the building should begin early next year with completion expected by the end of 2019.
