The man who put Lansdale — and literally all of jazz — on the map is being honored for his unceasing dedication to the AllAboutJazz.com and JazzNearYou.com websites chock full of jazz promotional content and events.
Only the second ever Jazz Bridge Jazz Ambassador Award will go to web entrepreneur Michael Ricci, according to 21st Cendury Media.
“I’ve spent the last 20 years building a web platform to support jazz musicians around the world,” Ricci said in the article, “but nothing gives me greater satisfaction than knowing that my efforts have directly helped musicians in my hometown.”
The original website, “known all over the world as the most comprehensive jazz resource on Earth, is a 13-time winner of the Jazz Journalists Association’s Best Website award. It has also been recognized as the top jazz website by Google, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, BBC, Time Magazine and Forbes Magazine.
