Celebrate the 250th in the Upper Perkiomen Valley This Fourth of July Weekend

The Brandywine Colonials Fife & Drum Corps and Betsy Ross Reenactor Carol Spacht are among the highlights of the Upper Perkiomen Valley's three-day celebration of America's 250th anniversary, July 3-5 in East Greenville and Pennsburg.

The Upper Perkiomen Valley is going all in for America’s 250th — and there’s something on the schedule for everyone.

Community organizations across the region have come together to plan a full three-day celebration running July 3-5, with events each day spanning East Greenville and Pennsburg.

Whether you’re bringing the kids, browsing classic cars, or looking to mark the moment with something genuinely meaningful, this weekend has you covered.

July 3

It all kicks off on Thursday, July 3, with a special UPV First Friday featuring extended hours from 5:00-8:30 PM.

The Upper Perkiomen Chamber of Commerce is taking over 2nd Street, 3rd Street, Bank Street, and Main Street in East Greenville, with local businesses open late, live entertainment, food, and a car show at the East Greenville Fire Co. parking lot featuring classic and custom rides.

July 4

Friday, July 4, is the centerpiece. A parade steps off at 9 a.m. from the 4/5 Center on Jefferson Street in East Greenville, leading the way to New Goshenhoppen Park, where food vendors, crafts, games, and music will fill the day.

That evening, the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center sponsors a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 6:30 PM — part of a county-wide “Houses of Declaration” initiative that echoes how most Americans first learned of independence in 1776.

The reading is led by Joshua Fink and followed by performances from the Brandywine Colonials Fife & Drum Corps and the Red Hill Band. The Rotary Club of Upper Perk caps the night with fireworks.

July 5

On Saturday, July 5, the Heritage Center at 105 Seminary Street in Pennsburg hosts Heritage Day from noon to 4 PM (free and family-friendly).

Activities center on the flag: kids can make their own, hear a presentation on how flags were manufactured in the region, and meet Betsy Ross herself, portrayed by Reenactor Carol Spacht.

The Upper Perkiomen Valley Library, Project Live, and the Borough of East Greenville round out the afternoon with additional crafts, and four Semiquincentennial exhibits will be on view in the museum.
