As the nation marks the 250th anniversary of American independence, Pottstown GoFourth! is inviting residents, businesses, organizations, and supporters to become part of local history through its new “We The People: The People Behind the Party” campaign.

The initiative gives community members the opportunity to add their names to a commemorative banner that will be displayed throughout the 2026 Pottstown GoFourth! Festival on July 4 at Memorial Park. The growing banner will serve as a visual tribute to the people whose support helps make one of the region’s largest Independence Day celebrations possible.

The banner will begin filling with signatures in the weeks leading up to Independence Day and continue to grow throughout the festival, creating a lasting representation of the community members, businesses, and organizations that help bring the annual celebration to life.

“This celebration has always belonged to the people of Pottstown,” said Festival Co-Chair Amy Francis. “The ‘We The People’ banner is a way to recognize the individuals, families, businesses, and organizations that help make this day possible. Every signature tells a story and reminds us that great community events don’t happen because of one person or one organization — they happen because people choose to show up and be part of something bigger than themselves.”

The campaign offers several participation levels inspired by iconic figures from American history:

We The People — $25. Add your signature to the community banner.

Betsy Ross — $100. Receive a larger, more prominent signature.

John Hancock — $500. Make a bold statement with a signature that stands out among the crowd.

Festival Co-Chair Amy Wolf said the campaign is designed to ensure everyone has the opportunity to see themselves reflected in the celebration.

“We want people to see themselves in this celebration,” Wolf said. “Whether it’s a family, a local business, a community organization, or someone who simply loves Pottstown, every name on the banner represents someone who chose to be part of something special. By July 4, we hope it tells the story of a community coming together to make this day possible.”
