Montgomery County residents will have plenty of options for celebrating Independence Day this year, with fireworks displays, parades, festivals, and family activities planned across the region.
As the country marks America’s 250th birthday, many local communities are going bigger than usual, making 2026 one of the most eventful Fourth of July weekends in recent memory.
A Historic Backdrop at Valley Forge
One of the most significant celebrations in the region this year is not a fireworks show but a milestone.
Valley Forge National Historical Park is marking its 50th anniversary as a national park alongside the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, with special commemorative programs scheduled for July 3, 4, and 5.
All events hosted by the park are free to attend, making it a compelling addition to any holiday weekend itinerary for history-minded families.
Pottstown: The County’s Biggest Block Party
For locals looking for a full day of patriotic festivities, Pottstown’s GoFourth! Festival is one of the county’s biggest celebrations.
The fun starts early with a Patriotic 5K at 8 AM, followed by the Rotary Parade at 10:15 AM along Adams to Manatawny Streets.
The GoFourth! Street Fest runs from 3 to 9:30 PM on High Street between York and Penn, featuring live music, food trucks, a kids’ zone, a beer garden, and vendors. Fireworks close out the evening at 9:30 PM.
Narberth: Small Town Charm
Narberth offers a more intimate, old-fashioned celebration at Narberth Park.
Daytime festivities are expected to include carnival games, a dunk tank, and a pie-eating contest, while the evening will feature music, food trucks, and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Fireworks are scheduled for approximately 9 to 9:30 PM, making Narberth a particularly good option for families.
Skippack: Parade, Village, and Fireworks at Dusk
In Skippack Village, the holiday begins with an 11 AM parade before the celebration moves into the village for food, shopping, and activities.
Fireworks will launch at dusk from Palmer Park. Parking at the park is limited, so visitors should plan ahead and be prepared for a parking fee.
Upper Merion: Carnival Rides and a 9:15 Finale
Residents closer to King of Prussia can head to Heuser Park for Upper Merion Township’s Fourth of July celebration.
The afternoon and evening festival will feature carnival rides, games, food vendors, and live music. Fireworks will follow at approximately 9:15 PM.
Norristown: Parade, Park, and Fireworks
Norristown will host a parade and community celebration, with the evening culminating in fireworks at Elmwood Park around 9 PM.

The event traditionally draws families from across the borough and surrounding communities.
Abington and Glenside: A Three-Part Celebration
The Abington and Glenside celebration is one of the region’s most well-rounded, featuring three tiers of programming across the full day.
A children’s morning program kicks things off at 10 AM at Renninger Memorial Park. The Grand, Glorious, Patriotic Parade follows in Glenside at 4 PM.
At 8 PM, the 28th Infantry Division Band of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard performs at Abington Senior High School, with an after-dark fireworks spectacular over the Abington Junior and Senior High Schools campus to close the night.
Start the Weekend Early: Ambler and North Coventry
Those hoping to get a head start on the holiday weekend have two nearby options. In Ambler, fireworks are expected at Wissahickon High School on July 2, with a rain date of July 3. This makes Ambler a solid first stop for residents looking to kick off the long weekend.
North Coventry Township, just over the county line near Pottstown, is hosting fireworks at the Norco Fair on July 2 at 9:30 PM. at 144 W. Schuylkill Road.
Conshohocken: July 3 Display Visible Across the Borough
Conshohocken is planning a borough-wide fireworks display on July 3 at approximately 9:15 PM, launched from Sutcliffe Park.
The show is expected to be large enough to be visible from most vantage points across the borough. Remember, Sutcliffe Park and the surrounding areas will close during the display.
Beyond the County: Ben Franklin Parkway
Montco residents willing to make the trip into the city can cap the holiday weekend with the One Philly Unity Concert on the Ben Franklin Parkway. Following that, they can catch a midnight fireworks display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The concert features a marquee lineup and serves as one of the region’s signature America 250 events.
Plan Ahead Before You Go
Lower Providence Township will also host music and fireworks at Eagleville Park on July 4. Regardless of where residents choose to celebrate, event times, parking details, and weather contingency plans may change.
Visitors should check with the host municipality before heading out.
