MCCC is currently seeking a Part-Time STEM Lab Assistant to help support faculty, staff, and students across its STEM programs.

The position plays an important role in maintaining laboratory operations, managing supplies and equipment, and helping ensure students have the resources they need for hands-on learning experiences.

Based at Montgomery County Community College, the STEM Lab Assistant will assist with equipment and supply ordering, inventory management, and laboratory maintenance while supporting a collaborative academic environment.

The STEM Lab Assistant serves as a key part of that effort by helping manage laboratory resources and supporting the day-to-day operations that keep STEM programs running efficiently.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while working in a team-focused setting.

What MCCC Is Looking For

Candidates should have:

  • A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of related work experience, or an associate’s degree.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • A commitment to safety and proper handling of laboratory materials and equipment.

The role also requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods while working in laboratory environments.
