Two Great Pizza Shops Serving Up Slices in Philadelphia Suburbs

Philadelphia is a known pizza hub with plenty of spots to grab a slice. Check out the suburbs for great pizza shops in Chester County.

Philadelphia is known for having some of the best pizza and that extends into the suburbs, with two great pizza shops in Chester County, writes Hira Qureshi for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Whether you take a slice or buy the whole pie, you’re bound to be left full and satisfied, yet hungry for more from these shops in West Chester and Phoenixville.

Seemingly hidden away from the world is Pizza West Chester, run by chef and owner Speer Madanat. With no phone number or website, the shop maintains a simple business model.

Madanat produces three types of pizza: plain, white, or pepperoni. These pies fly out the doors, with around 100 pizzas all being made by Madanat on his own.

Pizza West Chester is just one of many concepts from the chef, whose portfolio includes Steaks West Chester and now Ice Cream West Chester.

Moving up the map to Phoenixville is Vecchia Nuova, formally known as Vecchia Pizzeria. Owners Evan Lambert and Robert Tredinnick offer the tastiest Neapolitan pizza that can also be made gluten-free.

Each pizza pie crust is delicately charred, with the ingredients and toppings notably sizzlingly and delicious. Vecchia Nuova also offers other menu items such as salads, pasta, and Italian desserts.
