At North Montco Technical Career Center, a new opportunity is making it easier for aspiring beauty professionals — and experienced cosmetologists — to take the next step toward a rewarding future in the beauty industry.
NMTCC is now enrolling students for its new Adult Evening Cosmetology Program, a flexible, hands-on training program designed specifically for working adults, career changers, and former cosmetology students looking to complete additional required hours.
The program begins in September 2026, and enrollment is limited. It offers students the chance to earn their Pennsylvania Cosmetology License part-time in just two years over four semesters, while attending classes in the evenings from Monday through Thursday, 4:30-9 PM.
That schedule opens the door for people who may have thought cosmetology school simply was not possible with a daytime job or busy schedule.
Students in the program will receive real-world salon training while building skills in hair, nails, esthetics, and salon management. The curriculum is also designed to prepare students for the Pennsylvania State Board Licensing Exam, helping graduates move confidently into careers across the beauty and wellness industry.
For those who have always dreamed about working in cosmetology, the timing could not be better.
The beauty industry continues to offer a wide variety of career paths, from hairstyling and esthetics to nail technology, salon ownership, education, and entrepreneurship. Many professionals are drawn to the industry because it combines creativity, personal connection, flexibility, and the opportunity to help clients feel confident.
NMTCC is also creating opportunities for licensed cosmetologists who are ready to grow professionally in a different direction. It is now enrolling students in its Adult Evening Cosmetology Instructor Program, designed for licensed cosmetologists interested in becoming educators and mentors for the next generation of beauty professionals.
The 500-hour program prepares students for the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology Instructor Examination through training in instructional techniques, lesson planning, classroom and clinic management, communication skills, leadership, and cosmetology education methods.
Like the cosmetology program, instructor classes are held Monday through Thursday evenings, making the program accessible for working professionals who want to continue earning while expanding their career opportunities.
For experienced cosmetologists, becoming an instructor can open doors to leadership roles, long-term career stability, and the chance to make a lasting impact on students entering the industry.
The instructor program also begins in the fall and requires applicants to be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma, and hold a current Pennsylvania Cosmetology License.
Those interested in learning more or scheduling a meeting with an instructor can contact Denise Collins at 215-368-1177 ext. 303 or Erika DelliGatti at [email protected].
