From AI strategy and workforce training grants to rising energy costs, businesses across Montgomery County and the Greater Philadelphia region will have the opportunity to explore some of today’s most pressing workplace topics during Montgomery County Community College’s annual Workforce Development Business Roundtable on Wednesday, June 10.

Hosted online via Zoom from 10:00 AM until noon, the free event is designed to help businesses strengthen their workforce, stay competitive, and connect with valuable training and funding resources. Registration is required through the MCCC Calendar and Registration Page.

This year’s Keynote Speaker is Stephen Boyle, Founder and Principal of Merion Energy Solutions and former Director of State Government Affairs at PJM. Boyle will discuss the major forces expected to shape energy costs and grid operations across the PJM region in the years ahead — a topic increasingly important to businesses navigating operational and economic uncertainty.

Following the keynote presentation, MCCC workforce leaders Bernadette DeBias and Katina Faulk will provide insights into the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA), a statewide initiative that helps companies secure grant funding for employee training programs.

The session will cover how businesses can prepare competitive WEDnetPA applications ahead of the new fiscal year beginning July 1.

The event will also spotlight the growing role of artificial intelligence in business operations and workforce strategy.

Vincent Shelton, Founder of Upwize AI, will discuss practical AI tools and how companies can leverage them to make smarter business decisions. In addition, MCCC’s Tom Ross, Director of Workforce Development for Industry and Information Technology, will demonstrate AI use cases for manufacturers and share details about the College’s new CompTIA-based courses in:

  • AI Essentials
  • AI Prompting
  • AI for Marketing
