A new autism therapy center is opening in Horsham, and one of the Philadelphia region’s most recognizable organizations is helping welcome it to Montgomery County.
Action Behavior Centers and the Eagles Autism Foundation will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday, June 6, for one of three new ABC locations now open across the Philadelphia suburbs.
The Horsham center joins newly opened facilities in Newtown and King of Prussia, marking ABC’s first expansion into Pennsylvania and significantly broadening access to autism services across the region.
The event runs from 9:30 AM to 1 PM and is designed to be as fun as it is meaningful. Swoop and the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders will be on hand, and families can expect therapy animals, inflatables, food trucks, face painting, games, and guided tours of the new center. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with leadership from both organizations is set for 10 AM.
The timing of this expansion matters. Autism diagnoses continue to rise nationally, and many families spend months on waitlists before their child can access care.
ABC says all three new Pennsylvania centers are open now with no waitlists, offering applied behavior analysis therapy and autism evaluations for children ages 18 months to 8 years.
The partnership with the Eagles Autism Foundation reflects how seriously the Eagles organization has taken autism advocacy since Jeffrey Lurie, the Eagles’ owner since 1994 and a Wynnewood resident, launched the foundation in 2018.
What began as a fundraising event has grown into one of the region’s most prominent autism advocacy efforts. The Eagles Autism Challenge has raised more than $40 million for research and care programs, while Lincoln Financial Field has added sensory rooms and autism-friendly accommodations for fans on the spectrum.
For Lurie, the cause is personal. His family has supported autism awareness and research for decades. Their commitment reached a new milestone in June 2025 when the Lurie family announced a $50 million gift to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Penn Medicine.
The donation established the Lurie Autism Institute, then described as the largest single gift to U.S. academic medicine focused on autism research across the lifespan.
The Horsham grand opening on June 6 is a small but tangible piece of that larger mission, a chance for families in Montgomery County to see what expanded access to autism care can look like up close.
