People have been driving from all over Pennsylvania for decades for the delicious roast beef at Ye Olde Ale House in Lafayette Hill.

People have been driving from all over Pennsylvania for decades for the delicious roast beef at Ye Olde Ale House in Lafayette Hill, reports Bob Kelly for FOX 29 Philadelphia.

The latest convert to Ye Olde Ale House’s legendary roast sandwiches is Mike Fanelli, also known as internet food reviewer “The Godfather of Meat.”

“I got a lot of recommendations to come here, and when I came, this stopped me right in my tracks,” said Fanelli. “I’m a meat guy, and the carving station right in the center of the bar, that’s what it’s all about right here.”

Most places keep the kitchen in the back, but at Ye Olde Ale House, every meal is prepared in plain sight, which builds anticipation even more, especially for the local favorite, the roast beef sandwich.

“This is all right here, this is the main attraction,” said owner Chris Bass. “The roast beef sandwiches is what keeps the doors open.”

As an added bit of trivia, the eatery sources its meat from Kissin Fresh Meats in Philadelphia, where some training scenes from the Rocky movie were filmed.
