Trumark Credit Union, in collaboration with other local credit unions and partners, will welcome the community on Wednesday, April 29, when it hosts a free produce distribution aimed at helping individuals and families facing food insecurity.
The event is in partnership with Reliance Federal Credit Union, Corporate America Credit Union, Vizo Finanical, TruStage, Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union, Affiliated Trades Credit Union, CrossState Credit Union Association, Sun East Federal Credit Union, and Forge Credit Union. It will take place at Trumark’s headquarters at 335 Commerce Drive in Fort Washington, where volunteers will begin distributing fresh food at 2 PM and continue until supplies run out. There is no registration required, making it easy for anyone in need to stop by and receive support.
The distribution is the result of a growing partnership between Trumark and Sharing Excess, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit focused on rescuing surplus food and delivering it directly to communities. Vince Market, Trumark’s Chief Financial Officer, has helped lead the collaboration, bringing together Sharing Excess and other local credit unions for a day centered on both giving and community support.
For Trumark, the effort reflects a long-standing commitment. Over the past several years, the credit union has supported Sharing Excess through financial contributions and hands-on volunteer work. Team members have spent time at the organization’s Southwest Philadelphia warehouse, sorting and preparing food for distribution across the region.
That same spirit will be on display Wednesday, when approximately 30 volunteers from 10 credit unions and partners come together to serve neighbors in need. There are no forms to fill out, no eligibility requirements, and no cost. Attendees simply need to show up.
At a time when grocery costs remain high and many households are stretching budgets, events like this can make a meaningful difference. Fresh produce and staple items will be available, helping families put food on the table without added stress.
