Reaching your local government just got a little easier, thanks to a new initiative from the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds, Jeanne Sorg.
Sorg announced that residents can now text the Recorder of Deeds office directly at 267-355-3404, making it the first county office to offer this type of communication. The move is designed to meet constituents where they are, especially as younger homeowners and working professionals increasingly prefer quick, mobile-friendly interactions.
The new text line adds to a broader push by Sorg to improve accessibility across the office. In recent years, the Recorder of Deeds has introduced mobility-friendly service counters, expanded community outreach efforts, and implemented translation tools to better assist non-English speakers.
While the service offers convenience, it still maintains structure. Messages will be answered during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with after-hours inquiries handled the next business day.
For residents looking to ask a quick question without picking up the phone, the Recorder of Deeds office is now just a text away.
