Abington Residents Invited to Weigh In on New Middle School Plans

Abington School District will host an open house to share designs for its new middle school and gather community feedback.

Abington residents will soon get a closer look at plans for a major school project, and a chance to weigh in, writes Dino Ciliberti for Patch.

The Abington School District will host an open house on April 21 to present initial designs for a new Abington Middle School, part of a $285 million investment approved by voters last year.

The event will take place at the school’s Little Theater and will include presentations from the district’s construction management firm. Attendees will also have an opportunity to provide feedback through an online survey.

District leaders say the project has been shaped by months of community engagement, including meetings with township officials, nearby residents, and school staff. A previous survey also gathered input to help guide early planning decisions.

Superintendent Jeffrey Fecher emphasized that continued public involvement remains a priority as designs evolve, with additional opportunities for feedback expected in the coming months.

For Abington families, the project represents a significant investment in local educational infrastructure and an opportunity to help shape what the next generation of learning spaces will look like.
