When it Comes to Frozen Pizza, What Flavor is Pennsylvania’s Favorite?

For decades, frozen pizza has been a household staple across America, though some states order it from Instacart more frequently than others.

When it comes to frozen pizzas, every person has their preference, and according to Instacart, some states rely on the meal option more than others, writes Patrick Berkery for The Keystone.

Using data from 2025, Instacart found that Wisconsin, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Missouri ordered the most frozen pizzas in the country, while Pennsylvania ordered 11.84 percent less than the national average.

Of the frozen pizza options available, pepperoni reigns supreme both nationally and in Pennsylvania, at an average of 43 percent of all pizzas purchased on Instacart. Pepperoni is followed by regular cheese, making up 27 percent of orders, and deluxe/supreme in third at 11 percent.

According to Instacart, Mexican/taco, pepperoni & sausage, and supreme/deluxe have been rising in popularity, along with chicken Alfredo, chicken bacon ranch, and Hawaiian.

However, Pennsylvanians still seem to show some hesitation when it comes to getting the ham and pineapple variation. While Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, and North Dakota rank among the top Hawaiian pizza fans, the Keystone State orders it 90 percent less than the national average.

Detroit-style pizza, gluten-free crusts, and sourdough crusts have also risen in popularity around the country.
