MCCC and Philadelphia Music Alliance Host Audio Visual Career Day

The state-of-the-art Mix Room sound recording studio, located in the Advanced Technology Center on Montgomery County Community College’s Blue Bell Campus. MCCC, in partnership with the Philadelphia Music Alliance, will host an Audio Visual Career Day, Wednesday, April 29 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.

Today, Montgomery County Community College, in partnership with the Philadelphia Music Alliance, is hosting Audio Visual Career Day, bringing together students and leading professionals in the audio and video production industries for a dynamic day of career exploration, networking, and industry insight.

Taking place from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM in the Advanced Technology Center on the Blue Bell Campus, the event highlights a broad range of employment opportunities. The event also allows students to engage directly with employers, explore career pathways, and gain a clearer understanding of the skills and experience needed to succeed in today’s evolving media landscape.

“Our students will be able to meet and network with industry insiders,” said David Ivory, Director of MCCC’s Sound Recording and Music Technology (SRT) program and Grammy-nominated engineer and lead member of the Philadelphia Music Industry Task Force, “while also learning about possibilities to apply what they’re learning in the classroom into real-world career opportunities. In addition, industry professionals will have an opportunity to recruit rising stars in the field. It’s a win-win situation.”

Among the list of employers scheduled to participate are the Montco Gateway County Chamber of Commerce, Visual Sound Inc., EBE Talent, Civic Theatre of Allentown, LCBC Church, Montgomery County, WXPM 98.5fm The Phoenix, Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, and Synergetic Sound & Lighting.

A featured panel discussion will include representatives from participating companies, who will share what they look for when hiring new talent and provide practical advice for entering the field.

“Creating meaningful connections between students and industry professionals is essential to building the next generation of talent,” said Kerri Park-Lennon, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Music Alliance. “We are proud to partner with Montgomery County Community College to support opportunities that give students direct access to real-world experience and clear pathways into the industry.”

Audio Visual Career Day reflects MCCC’s commitment to providing hands-on, career-focused learning experiences that prepare students for immediate entry into the workforce.
