Wynnewood resident Jeffrey Lurie says he’s not slowing down anytime soon, writes John George for The Philadelphia Business Journal.
The longtime owner of the Philadelphia Eagles is entering his 32nd season with the franchise and remains deeply involved in team operations. Lurie said that while he may spend less time physically at the team’s headquarters, he is communicating with executives more frequently than ever through virtual meetings.
Now 74, Jeffrey Lurie emphasized that his intensity and commitment to the organization remain strong, noting he has no plans to reduce his role. Since purchasing the Eagles in 1994 for $195 million, he has overseen the team’s transformation into one of the NFL’s most valuable franchises, now worth an estimated $8.3 billion.
Lurie also addressed the future leadership of the organization, including the growing involvement of his son, Julian. While no timeline has been set for a transition, Julian is gaining experience across multiple areas of the business.
Under Lurie’s leadership, the Eagles have captured two Super Bowl titles, further cementing his legacy.
