Gladwyne’s David Adelman Expands Campus Apartments with $400M Fund Push

Montco’s David Adelman is raising up to $400M for Campus Apartments, fueling new real estate projects nationwide and growth.

Real Estate firm, Campus Apartments, is gearing up for its next major growth phase, writes Emma Dooling for The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The firm led by Gladwyne’s David Adelman is seeking to raise up to $400 million through a new private equity fund to fuel development projects across the country.

The company plans to use the capital to expand its national footprint in the student housing sector. Campus Apartments currently manages more than $2 billion in assets across 18 states, with properties in major college markets from Maryland to Michigan.

While much of its recent growth has taken place outside the region, Adelman has maintained strong ties to the Philadelphia area. The firm still owns multiple properties in University City, including student housing complexes and a nearby hotel.

Adelman’s influence extends beyond real estate. The Montgomery County native is also a minority owner of the Philadelphia 76ers and has played a key role in plans for a new arena in the city.

At the same time, he’s working to grow his consumer brand, Darco Spirits, which recently expanded distribution into Pennsylvania state stores.

With the new fund, Campus Apartments is looking to build on decades of experience while positioning itself for continued national growth.
