Wynnewood’s Lankenau Medical Center has a new leader, according to John George for The Philadelphia Business Journal.
Anna Michelle Brandt has been appointed president of the 370-bed hospital, effective March 1.
Brandt joins Main Line Health following a nationwide search. She most recently served as chief operating officer at University Hospital in Newark, where she oversaw inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services at the 519-bed academic medical center. She is credited with leading key modernization projects and guiding operations through periods of growth and change.
At Lankenau, Brandt succeeds Katie Galbraith, who left last year to lead New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. Brandt will also reunite with Main Line Health CEO Ed Jimenez, who previously worked alongside her in Newark before joining the regional health system in 2025.
Main Line Health operates four acute care hospitals across the region, including Lankenau, Bryn Mawr, Paoli, and Riddle, along with rehabilitation and addiction treatment facilities.
The system recently reported improved financial performance. It posted an $8.7 million operating profit in the first half of fiscal 2026 after a loss during the same period last year.
For the Main Line, the leadership transition marks a new chapter at one of the region’s cornerstone medical centers.
