In a pocket of King of Prussia better known for big-box stores and national chains, Uma Café & Peruvian Restaurant is offering something deeply personal: a family-run space rooted in heritage, hospitality, and the bold flavors of Peru.

Opened quietly in late October 2025 at 3000 Valley Forge Circle, Suite 3150, in
King of Prussia, Uma Café is the realization of a long-held dream for Owner Pia Abrill Feigley, who immigrated to the United States from Peru as a child.

Food, she says, was always central to her family life, especially her father’s cooking.

“My dad has always been an incredible cook,” Feigley shared. “Anytime we had friends or family over, everyone loved his food. I tried for years to convince him to open a restaurant, but he never wanted to run one himself. In a way, this is me carrying that forward.”

Uma Café celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, joined by representatives from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Visit King of Prussia, Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, and members of the local community.

After spending several years as a stay-at-home mom to her two young children, Feigley felt the timing was finally right. “I told myself that once my kids were old enough, I wanted to do something for myself,” she said. “This felt like the right moment, and now I get to do it with my husband and my dad. It’s truly a family business.”

That family-first philosophy extends into every aspect of Uma Café, from recipe testing to daily operations. The menu is intentionally small, focusing on Peru’s most beloved dishes, including ceviche and pollo a la brasa. “Peruvian food is consistently ranked among the best in the world,” Feigley explained. “There are certain staples you just have to have. We test everything together — my husband, my dad, and me — and only include what we genuinely love.”

One standout item has already earned international recognition: the fried pork breakfast sandwich, made with sweet potato, pickled onions, and a toasted Peruvian roll, recently won a global competition for Best Breakfast Sandwich in the World. Though not yet printed on the main menu, it has quickly become a customer favorite.

Beyond the food, Uma Café also emphasizes thoughtful sourcing and sustainability, particularly with its coffee program. “We work with a local roaster that sources directly from farmers,” Feigley said. “Being mindful about the land and how things are grown is really important to us.”

As the only Peruvian restaurant currently in King of Prussia, Feigley says one of the biggest challenges has been education — but it’s also the greatest opportunity.

“People hear ‘Peruvian’ and think it’s unfamiliar,” she noted. “But once they try it, they realize it’s comforting, flavorful, and not that different from what they already love. Someone once told me, ‘I don’t know what you’re doing with that chicken, but you’re doing it right.’ He comes in almost every day now.”

Looking ahead, Uma Café plans to expand with a dinner menu and a more sit-down evening experience in the coming months. As the business continues to grow, Feigley has begun connecting with local organizations, including the Montgomery County Commerce Department, which supports small businesses through networking, visibility, and regional collaboration.

Opening a restaurant is no small feat, but Feigley says the encouragement from the local community and the resources available through county partners have made the journey feel possible.

“Everything is coming together,” she said. “It’s exciting to feel supported as a small, family-owned business.”

At its heart, Uma Café is about sharing culture, warmth, and a sense of belonging. “We live here. We’re raising our kids here,” Feigley said. “This is our way of bringing a piece of Peru to the place we call home.”
