Two Montco artists put their local pride front and center in a limited-edition release from Bird Gang Spirits, writes Anne E. Hill for Main Line Today.
Willow Grove native Jordan Spector and Montco native Paul Carpenter are among the featured creatives behind the brand’s first-ever Artist Series, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 1965 championship.
The special-edition labels debuted this fall and reflect the grit, passion, and energy of Eagles fandom. Spector designed the label for Bird Gang’s straight bourbon whiskey, while Carpenter created the artwork for the vodka bottle, each bringing a distinct Philly-inspired style to the collection.
Spector, a former multi-sport athlete and Temple University football walk-on, turned to art after an injury ended his playing career. Over the past decade, his work has been featured by the Eagles, Fanatics, Goldin Auctions, and the NFLPA. He said the collaboration represents both his love for Philadelphia sports and his appreciation for bourbon culture.
Carpenter, a lifelong Eagles fan, described the project as a chance to showcase Philadelphia’s iconography through layered, city-driven design. His work reflects what he calls “Philly art for Philly people.”
Bird Gang Spirits launched in 2023 and is available at BOTLD locations, including King of Prussia, as well as regional liquor stores and online.
