Freedom Village Collects 761 Pounds of Food at Month-Long Drive

Freedom Village at Brandywine collected 761 pounds of food for the Chester County Food Bank after a month-long food drive.

Freedom Village at Brandywine, a Life Plan Community in West Brandywine, wrapped up November 2025 with a successful month-long food drive that collected 761 pounds of non-perishable food for the Chester County Food Bank.

Throughout the entire month, residents and team members joined together in a unified effort to support local families heading into the holiday season.

The community encouraged donations daily, with an added incentive for staff: employees who brought in food items on Fridays in November were invited to wear jeans to work – a small but enjoyable way to boost participation.

“Giving back is an essential part of who we are,” said Danielle Geyer, executive director of Freedom Village at Brandywine. “These donations will go a long way in supporting our neighbors, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute during a time of year when the need is especially great.”

The Chester County Food Bank will distribute the donated items to families across the region, helping ensure more households have access to essential food resources during the holidays.

Freedom Village’s contribution stands as a reminder of how Life Plan Communities can play a vital role in supporting the larger community.

Freedom Village at Brandywine is a continuing care retirement community in Pennsylvania, managed by Life Care Services. The community offers a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.
