Norristown’s rising soccer star Cavan Sullivan is earning national attention once again, according to the Philadelphia Union.
This time, he’s a finalist for U.S. Soccer’s 2025 Young Male Player of the Year. The Philadelphia Union homegrown joins a select group of nominees, including Josh Wynder, Benjamin Cremaschi, Brooklyn Raines, and Mathis Albert. These plates are recognized for standout performances across club and country.
Sullivan’s nomination follows a breakout showing at the U-17 World Cup in Qatar, where he played a role in four of the United States’ five goals. He delivered game-winners in the team’s first two matches and added key assists against Tajikistan and Morocco. In doing so, Sullivan cemented his place as one of the tournament’s most impactful young players.
His progress continued at the club level. Sullivan became the youngest starter in Union history during a July 5 match against Nashville SC. Across 11 first-team appearances and 14 games with Union II, he showcased a rare blend of maturity and creativity for a player his age. Sullivan collected six goals and six assists.
Voting for the Young Male Player of the Year award is open through Dec. 12 at 11:59 PM, with winners to be announced in January.
