With glamping rapidly gaining popularity, state parks across Pennsylvania are introducing the option of going glamping, including in Chester County, writes Damon C. Williams for the Bucks County Courier Times.
Glamping is a more comfortable form of camping, where a person is camping while still enjoying certain luxuries and amenities.
“Glamping is where stunning nature meets modern luxury,” reads Glamping.com’s definition. “It’s a way to experience the untamed and completely unique parts of the world – without having to sacrifice creature comforts. It’s a fusion of glamour and camping, glamping is a way to authentically experience the most awe-inspiring locales around the world.”
To meet the growing demand, Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has opened 61 glamping sites at eight state parks for select dates in 2026.
French Creek State Park in Elverson will have Loop A available from March 6 to Dec. 31, 2026, and Loop B from April 24 to Oct. 31, 2026.
The glamping sites will feature Timberline glamping tents and offer several comfort amenities such as large beds, lights, furnishings, and small appliances.
Visitors can book one-night weekday stays or two-night weekend and holiday stays.
