The walking path in the Valley Forge National Historical Park is predominantly paved and flat, making it ideal for visitors of all ages and abilities.

We all need a long walk sometimes to reset and focus on the moment, and Valley Forge National Historical Park in King of Prussia is the perfect setting for it, writes Beth Price-Williams for Only In Your State.

The park offers beautiful scenery along the Joseph Plumb Martin Trail. There is also ample parking on the parking lot just off North Outer Line Road, including several accessible spaces.

The walking path is predominantly paved and flat, making it ideal for visitors of all ages and abilities. It is both wheelchair-accessible and stroller-friendly. And if you want to take a walk with your canine companion, leashed dogs are welcome.

Still, there are some steeper sections on the trail, which could be a bit more challenging for wheelchairs or strollers.

The five-mile trail can get quite busy sometimes, so expect to run into plenty of other hikers, bikers, and even horseback riders.

While it has some tree-lined portions, the trail is mostly not in the shade, so be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and water during the summer.
