Montgomery County Community College (MCCC), a respected public institution serving Blue Bell and Pottstown, is actively seeking dedicated professionals to join its collaborative and mission-driven team, with open roles such as Senior Director of IT Security and Part-Time Custodian – 2nd Shift.

Senior Director of IT Security

The Senior Director of IT Security, who serves as the Information Security Officer (ISO) for the College, is the expert responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of a comprehensive IT Security Program.

This role is pivotal in creating a secure and compliant digital environment that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the College’s technology systems, information assets, and data. The ISO is a key leader in mitigating cyber risk, enhancing the overall security posture, and fostering a culture of security awareness across the institution.

The position is responsible for developing an IT Security Strategy that adapts to the internal organization and external environment through the implementation of industry-defined best practices, focusing on cybersecurity management and technology-related risks. The position leads the IT Security team in the performance of operational responsibilities outlined in the IT Security Program, as well as through projects that affect institutional exposure and reduce risk.

The position informs and guides institutional leadership on IT Security matters, including the identification of new threats and recommended institutional responses.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in information security and risk management, with a demonstrable track record of successfully managing enterprise-level security programs.
  • An approved industry Security Certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or similar) is required.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance requirements common in higher education, such as FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA, and PCI-DSS, is required.
  • Experience in securing infrastructure systems such as internetworking devices, server operating systems, web servers, transaction servers, databases, etc.
  • Experience managing partnerships with third-party vendors.
  • Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing information security professionals.
  • Advanced knowledge of modern cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex security issues to both technical and nontechnical audiences, including executive leadership and the broader community.

Part-Time Custodian – 2nd Shift

The Part-Time Custodian maintains a clean and sanitary environment at the College.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or one to two years of experience required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow routine instructions.
  • Ability to work within a team-oriented setting.
  • Functions as part of the emergency response team and is expected to work when the College is closed for emergencies.
  • Must be able to lift trash containers weighing up to 30 pounds and deposit bags in larger trash containers on the trash cart.
  • Must be able to perform bending, stretching, kneeling, and repetitive movements such as those involved in sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, washing walls and chalkboards, cleaning/sanitizing restrooms, or shoveling snow.
  • Must be able to perform repeated bending of knees and kneeling for extended periods of time while removing accumulated buildup from baseboards and edges of walls and floors.
  • Must be able to perform repeated climbing and balancing on ladders for extended periods of time while changing lights, high-dusting ball lights, window ledges, etc.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry for extended periods of time while delivering and moving equipment and supplies.
