October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the contributions of workers with disabilities and the power of inclusive workplaces.
To mark the occasion, The Arc of Chester County is proud to recognize Giant Market, Store #6291 in East Bradford as its 2025 Employer of the Year.
This award honors businesses that demonstrate exceptional commitment to diversity and inclusion. At Giant, that commitment shines through the meaningful employment of three long-tenured Arc participants—John, Marc, and Laura. Each brings dedication, reliability, and warmth to their roles, and they are beloved by both customers and staff.
Through their jobs, they’ve built independence, achieved personal goals, and become familiar faces in the community.
“Giant Market Store #6291 has gone above and beyond to create a workplace where everyone belongs,” said Jeanne Meikrantz, CEO of The Arc of Chester County. “Their commitment to inclusion has been life-changing for our participants and demonstrates the incredible value of a diverse workforce. We are honored to recognize their leadership and partnership.”
Giant’s culture of inclusion serves as a model for other businesses, showing how community employment benefits both individuals and workplaces. The Arc applauds them for their dedication to creating opportunities where everyone can thrive.
The mission of The Arc of Chester County, a nonprofit organization, is to advocate, educate, and provide services to empower individuals with disabilities and their families to enhance the quality of their lives.
