The Wankawala Organization, headquartered in Marlton, New Jersey, has purchased the 137-key Residence Inn Philadelphia Conshohocken from HHM Hotels, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Founder and CEO Mihir Wankawala said the acquisition closed on August 14 but did not disclose the purchase price.
He added that buying the Montgomery County hotel made sense for his company as it is looking to expand its Philadelphia footprint, and the Conshohocken property is in the city’s “backyard.”
“We’re always looking for opportunities near Philadelphia,” he said. “If there is something that’s in the market, yes, we’ll take a look at it for sure.”
The 24-year-old hotel, part of Marriott International’s extended-stay portfolio of brands, will remain under its current brand following the sale.
In late 2026, the hotel will undergo cosmetic renovations. Costs for these updates are not yet known.
The Residence Inn spans more than 100,000 square feet over six floors. In addition to 137 rooms, the hotel features an indoor pool, a fitness center, an outdoor sports court, and a bar and lounge.
It was renovated in 2014, when the current dining and entertainment amenities were added.
